Welcome to the Marriage License E-Filing Application

What is the marriage license e-filing application?

This program was created to help make your trip to the county clerk's office a fast and easy one by allowing you to enter your information online at your own pace. This program is easy to use and free of charge. However, submitting your application online is optional.
Learn more about Indiana's marriage license e-filing project.

Please be aware that you are not actually issued a marriage license online and no fees are collected during the e-filing process.

Both you and your future spouse are still required to complete your application and obtain your marriage license at the clerk's office. The license must be obtained in the county in which one of you resides and the ceremony can take place anywhere in Indiana. The marriage license fee is due at that time. If you or your future spouse live in Indiana, the marriage license fee is $25; if you both reside outside of Indiana, the fee is $65 and the license must be obtained in the county you plan to hold the ceremony. Some offices also charge an additional document fee of $4.00, most counties require these fees to be paid in cash.
